Persians are marked by saturated color, colorful body wraps, and highly unusual forms. This flamboyant series exudes life, and many consider these works of art to constitute Chihuly's most powerful series.

Parrot Green Persian Set, a Portland Press 2001 Studio Edition, is a wonderful example of this extraordinary series. The graceful open form enfolds an eccentric smaller piece that curls out and draws us inreminiscent of an entity in nature. Each handblown part is outlined by a vibrant red lip wrap. The set measures approximately 7 x 11 inches and is signed by Dale Chihuly.

Accompanying the glass Studio Edition is a Chihuly-designed Plexiglas vitrine with black base and a copy of the book Chihuly Persians. Fifty-nine color reproductions and a compelling essay by Tina Oldknow are featured in this inspiring volume.
