In the summer of 2007, Chihuly traveled to Crow's Shadow Institute of the Arts in Pendleton, Oregon to collaborate on a project with Tamarind Master Printer Frank Janzen. This collaboration resulted in the Chihuly's latest original limited edition print, Crow's Shadow Baskets.
Set against a soft golden background, Chihuly features his Basket series in warm jewel tones, accented by lively iridescent lip wraps. Chihuly's signature in silver yields perfect balance to this beautiful print.
*A portion of this edition was gifted to the Crow's Shadow Institute of the Arts with all sale proceeds going to the Dale Chihuly Scholarship Fund for Emerging Native American artists.

Lithographs are created by Chihuly in different ways, including drawing with tusche (greasy ink) onto metal plates or by painting on sheets of mylar (a polyester film). One plate is needed for each color desired in the final artwork. For example, a six-color lithograph requires that Chihuly make six different drawings on six different plates, After further preparation of the plates by the master printmaker, the plates are inked and pulled over high-quality archival paper, with one pass required for each plate used.
