Product Description

Translated to mean a “thousand flowers,” this unique series is comprised of a variety of works. Components of the Mille Fiori series resemble organic shapes such as the antherium or fern, or the intuitive resemblance of a heron’s lengthy body or the foot of a frog. They are sometimes arranged in single elements or grouped together with as many as twelve installations. Combined, these installations truly create a mystical garden of glass. This edition is illustrated throughout with handsome full-color images selected by the artist, representing a wide range of these projects.

The second installment in this small book set includes Persians, Mille Fiori, and Cylinders. Dramatically different in form, each of these series exudes an elegance all their own.

Specific only to one series, these titles chronicle the renowned artist’s glass sculptures. Certainly compact in appearance but not in content, each book within the collection boasts more than 112 pages comprised of images reflective of the series after which they are named.

Essays by Davira Taragin explore the individuality that makes Chihuly so unique.
A companion DVD accompanies each book that includes artist commentary discussing the history of each series, all approximately 15 minutes in running time.
Essays by Davira Taragin, formerly the Director of Exhibitions, Racine Art Museum; Curator, The Detroit Institute of the Arts, Toledo Museum of Art.
