Product Description

" A masterful impresario of color, light, shape, form, balance, composition, and rhythm, Dale Chihuly treats visitors to his exhibitions to mesmerizing images they have never before experienced in life or art."
Phyllis Tuchman

For more than thirty years, Dale Chihuly has been creating and experimenting with works of art in glass. An exhibition of Chihuly's art was held at the prestigious Marlborough Gallery in New York City, April 5 - May 5, 2001. There was an encore performance at Marlborough London, August 2 - 29, 2001 and finally at Marlborough Monte Carlo, June 27 - August 31, 2002.

Accompanying these magnificent exhibitions, this second edition of Chihuly Marlborough features 51 dramatic, full-color images that capture the artist's most recent work. Chandeliers, Towers, Jerusalem Cylinders, and Ikebana, as well as drawings that inspire the glass creations, are beautifully depicted. A detailed chronology, as well as listings of museum collections and museum exhibitions, augment this volume.

The catalogue also features a profile of Chihuly and his artwork by writer and noted art critic Phyllis Tuchman. Her enlivening essay provides readers with an insightful glimpse into the artist's life and his passion for using four transparent materials: glass, plastic, ice, and water.
