As a tribute to the new millennium, Dale Chihuly leads a team that includes Americans, Israelis, and Palestinians in mounting sixteen large-scale installations in Jerusalem's ancient Tower of David. The exhibition draws over 1 million visitors, and its amazing success prompts Chihuly to return to Jerusalem with sixty-four tons of Alaskan ice to create the symbolic Wall of Ice.
Chihuly in the Light of Jerusalem marks not only Chihuly's formal gesture of gratitude to the land that gave birth to glassmaking 4,000 years ago, but also a turning point in his understanding of glass and the limitless possibilities that lie within it.
